About Us


National Legal Services Authority

NALSA has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free legal services to weaker sections of the society. Under Section 4(f) of the Act, one function of NALSA is to encourage the settlement of disputes, including online by way of negotiations, arbitration, mediation and conciliation. The Chief Justice of India is the Patron-in-Chief and the Senior most Hon'ble Judge, Supreme Court of India is the Executive Chairman of the Authority. At present Hon’ble Dr. Justice D.Y. Chandrachud is the Patron-in-Chief, NALSA and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjiv Khanna is the Executive Chairman, NALSA. Visit its website here.

Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee

MCPC has been constituted by the Supreme Court of India to oversee the effective implementation of Mediation and Conciliation in the country, in furtherance of the legislative mandate and the spirit of Section 89 of Code of Civil Procedure, 1908. MCPC ensures the regulated growth and evolution of Mediation as a dispute resolution mechanism by conducting various Mediation Training Programmes in the country. MCPC is also involved in conducting research, coordinating with International Organizations, accrediting mediators and holding seminars/conferences. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sanjiv Khanna is the Chairman, MCPC, whereas Hon'ble Mr. Justice M.M Sundresh, Hon'ble Mr. Justice P.S. Narasimha, and Shri Rakesh Kumar Khanna, Senior Advocate are Members.
